Tapraq Rock partnered with the local IRA to construct new roads, house pads, and homes to mitigate a serious shortage of housing in Western Alaska. View more
Community Support
Tapraq Rock equipment and personnel were on site assisting with a store fire, Merbok storm flooding, and a school fire in Stebbins, AK in just the last 3 years. Nearby homes were saved and propane bottles removed from the fires, preventing the possibility of injuries and further property damage. Tapraq then provided immediate community relief support, assistance with sourcing funding for repairs and immediate community relief needs, as we started permanent repair projects. Repairs and rebuilding are still in progress.

Tapraq Rock exists for the purpose of bringing stable industry and employment to small village life in Western Alaska. Tapraq is locally owned and holds itself to a strict local hire policy with a goal of employee training, career development, and long-term employment. First preference in hiring goes to residents of the communities we live and work in. Local job creation and community self-reliance is our mission.

After the collapse of seasonal fire fighting jobs in Stebbins and St. Michael, the economy was stagnant. With the formation of Tapraq Rock, the shareholder-owned company has transformed the village dynamics from an economically depressed community into a busy booming community.
